NannyPay uses a unified menu and tool bar system for all windows. If a feature is not available, the corresponding tool bar button or menu item will also be dimmed. Click on the features below to learn more about them.

Open: Click the "Open" button to open a previously created NannyPay file. If you use NannyPay to calculate withholding for more than one employee, you may wish to use several NannyPay data files.
Cut, Paste, Copy, Undo: The cut, copy, paste and undo buttons correspond to the standard Windows editing operations. See your Windows documentation for further information.
Print: Click the "Print" button to print your household employee's pay stub. The pay stub will contain the personal information you have entered in the Set Up Screen and the current and year-to-date calculations.
Calculate Gross Pay: Click on the "Inverted Dollar Sign" button to navigate to the gross pay calculator.
Navigate Transactions: You can view previous payroll transactions by clicking on the left arrow to navigate to the previous payroll transaction, or click on the right arrow to move to the next payroll transaction. To create a new payroll transaction, click on the "square" button. If the buttons are "grayed", this feature is not available.
Delete: To delete the current entry on the pay check image screen, click on the "Delete" button. If you are viewing the register screen you must first select the row you wish to delete by clicking on the row marker on the left side of the Current Register and then click "delete." Because you cannot undo this action, NannyPay will prompt you before making the deletion.
Set Up Window: Click on the "Set Up" button to navigate to the set up screen.
Pay Check Window: Click on the "Dollar" button to navigate to NannyPay's "Payroll Check" window.
Register Window: Click on the "Register" button to navigate to the Register window.
Reminders: Click on the "Reminders" to navigate to NannyPay's Reminde utility.
Help: To view NannyPay's context sensitive help, click the "Help" button and move the arrow to the item you wish to learn about. Then click your left mouse button to see the popup help window.
Exit: Click on the "Exit" button to quit NannyPay.
New: Click "New" to create a new NannyPay file. You may wish to create a new file when you change nannies or start a new year.
Open: Click "Open" to open a previously created NannyPay file. If you use NannyPay to calculate withholding for more than one employee, you may wish to use several NannyPay files.
Save As: NannyPay will automatically save entries you have made during the set up process; however, you may wish to change the name of a file or change its location. Use the "Save As" command to do that.
Print Pay Stub: Click "Print" to print your household employee's pay stub. The pay stub will contain the personal information you have entered in the Set Up Screen and the current and year-to-date calculations.
Print Registers: If you want to make a copy of all your payroll transactions, you can print your entire current, year-to-date, or quarterly registers by clicking the "Print Registers" command.
Export: If you want to analyze your payroll data in a spreadsheet or database, you can export your NannyPay current, year-to-date, or quarterly data in tab delimited format by clicking the "Export" command.
QIF Export: Use the QIF Export function to import NannyPay payroll transactions into your personal financial software such as Quicken. Navigate to the desired transaction in the Payroll Check Screen and then click "QIF Export." You can export multiple transactions by navigating to the Payroll Register Screen and selecting more than one payroll transaction and then clicking "QIF Export." You can also customize your QIF export categories by selecting "Preferences" under the "Edit" menu. Quicken users will be familiar with the purpose of this feature. Please note that Intuit Corp. has discontinued support for QIF import/export starting with Quicken 2005.
Quit: Click the "Quit" command to exit NannyPay.

Manual Update: The NannyPay Manual Update Facility provides you with the opportunity to manually enter withholding calculations so that they are reflected in the year-to-date and quarterly records generated by NannyPay. This is particularly useful if you have been paying your household employee before you began using NannyPay software and you wish to update your computerized records with your previous manual records. See Updating NannyPay Files.
Set Up Wizard: The Set Up Wizard assists you in setting up NannyPay with the information NannyPay needs to calculate withholding and preparing pay stubs and quarterly reports. See Opening NannyPay for the First Time for more information about the Set Up Wizard.
Preferences: In the Preferences window you can choose a default pay stub type, change the background color of the Payroll Check Screen, enable and disable sound effects, and customize your QIF export so that it matches your Quicken categories. Additional preferences will be added to NannyPay as more features are implemented.
Calculate Withholding: Click on the "Calculate Withholding" command to calculate your household employee's withholding tax.
Calculate Gross Pay: Click on the "Calculate Gross Pay" command to navigate to the Gross Pay Calculator.
Form W-2 and Form W-3: Click on the form you want to print and follow the directions for printing form W-2s and W-3s.
Quarterly Withholding: Click here to view and print a report containing quarterly totals of your household employee's withholding taxes and EIC payments, if any. The Quarterly Report may be useful for state tracking and reporting purposes.
Employer's Liability: The employer's liability report -- which you may view on screen or print for your records -- provides estimates of your liability for withholding and for your employer's contributions.
Schedule H and Form W-2: NannyPay can assist you in filling out your federal Schedule H and Form W-2s. The Schedule H report is preceded by an online questionnaire. It's a good idea to have the form available as a reference when you answer the questions. The reports provide you with line-by-line information to be entered into your tax forms. To learn more about Schedule H and Form W-2, please refer to the instructions provided by the Internal Revenue Department.
Payroll Check: Once you have completed your set up, you are ready to calculate withholding taxes. Click here and NannyPay will take you to its Payroll Check Window.
Show Set Up: Click the "Show Set Up" command to take you to the Set Up window.
Registers: Click the "Registers" command to show the Current, Quarterly, and Year-To-Date registers.
Reminders: Click the "Reminders" command to navigate to NannyPay's Reminder utility.
Next, New and Previous: The "Next" and "Previous" commands will move the current payroll transaction in the Payroll Check Screen in the desired direction. The "New" command will clear the payroll check image and prepare the software to calculate the next new payroll transaction.
Browse Federal Forms: NannyPay comes with a set of federal IRS forms and publications in "pdf" format, which you can browse or print. When you click on "Browse Federal Forms", NannyPay opens the directory folder where the forms are stored. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system, you can read the forms and publications by double-clicking on any file.
Visit the IRS Web Site: If you have Internet access, you can visit the Internal Revenue Service web site by clicking on this menu item. NannyPay will automatically guide you to the IRS web site forms directory.
Download Adobe Acrobat Reader: To view the IRS "pdf" files that are included with NannyPay, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click here to download a free copy from Adobe's web site.
Visit Your State Revenue Department's Web Site: If you have Internet access, you can visit your state revenue department's web site by clicking on this menu item.
State Revenue Department Phone Numbers: Click here to see a list of state revenue department phone numbers. Your state will assist you in obtaining forms and other important information.
How Do I . . . : Click on this menu item to get quick instructions on how to use NannyPay.
NannyPay Employer's Guide: Click to see the NannyPay Employer's Guide, a step-by-step guide on how to pay your household employee according to the rules.
Contents: Click on "Search" to search the table of contents of NannyPay's online help.
Search Contents: Click on "Contents" to see the table of contents of NannyPay's online help.
Check for Updates: Click on "Check for Updates" to see if there are any updates available for NannyPay. You must have Internet access for this feature to work.
